Description
- We are looking to hire a seasoned and strategic officer to serve as an operations and finance officer for our brand.
- The operations and finance will handle the finance company’s day-to-day operations, financial management, and compliance with regulatory requirements.
Responsibilities
- Provide strategic direction and oversight for all operational activities of the brand.
- Streamline operational processes to enhance efficiency, reduce costs, and improve customer service.
- Develop and manage the brand’s financial strategies, including budgeting, financial reporting, and risk management.
- Monitor the brand’s financial performance, analyze variances, and implement corrective measures as needed.
- Ensure the brand’s compliance with finance regulations, banking laws, and relevant industry standards.
- Collaborate with regulatory authorities and maintain a strong understanding of changing regulatory requirements.
- Identify and manage potential risks to the brand’s reputation, financial health, and operations.
- Implement risk mitigation strategies and controls to protect the brand’s assets.
- Foster a customer-centric culture by promoting excellent customer service and relationship building.
- Engage with clients to understand their financial needs and promote the brand’s products and services.
- Provide effective leadership to operational and finance teams, fostering a collaborative and motivated work environment.
- Develop talent within the organization through coaching, training, and professional development initiatives.
- Cultivate and maintain relationships with stakeholders, including investors, board members, and partners.
- Represent the company in industry associations, forums, and relevant events.
- Report regularly to the board of directors on the brand’s performance, strategic initiatives, and risk management.
- Ensure compliance with internal policies, governance, and ethical standards.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Banking, Economics, Business Administration, or a related field; being a chartered accountant is an added advantage.
- Proven track record of at least 3 years in operational roles within the microfinance, finance, or banking sector.
- Strong knowledge of finance regulations, banking operations, and financial management.
- Excellent leadership and decision-making abilities.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to think strategically and drive innovation.
- Sound understanding of risk management principles.
- Proficiency in using banking software (BankOne) and Microsoft Office suite.
