Barista
Job Location: Queen Elizabeth, Abuja (FCT)
Employment Type: Full-time
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and serve various coffee, tea, and other beverages.
- Present menu, take orders and make recommendations to the customers.
- Operate coffee brewing equipment, such as grinders, espresso machines, and drip brewers.
- Provide guests with information about the coffee beans, brewing methods, and flavor profiles.
- Maintain the cleanliness and appearance of the coffee bar, dining area, and brewing equipment.
- Process payments using the restaurant’s POS system and handle cash and credit card transactions.
- Work collaboratively with other staff members, such as servers and kitchen staff, to ensure smooth operations.
- Perform opening and closing duties including stocking taken and maintaining sales records.
- Perform other duties as assigned by management.
Requirements
- First Degree (BSc) / HND or equivalent in a relevant field with 1-3 years of experience.
- Previous experience as a Barista, preferably in a high-end restaurant or Specialty Coffee environment.
- Strong knowledge of coffee brewing techniques, equipment, and beans.
- Excellent customer service and communication skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and multitask effectively.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule, including early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- Positive attitude and willingness to learn and take direction.
- Knowledge of restaurant POS systems is a plus.
