Responsibilities

• Evaluate patients’ medical history, perform physical examinations, and order and interpret diagnostic tests (e.g., ECGs, echocardiograms, stress tests, cardiac catheterizations).
• Diagnose and treat a wide range of cardiovascular conditions.
• Develop and implement individualized treatment plans, including medication management, interventional procedures (if qualified), and lifestyle recommendations.
• Provide patient education and counseling regarding their condition, treatment options, and preventative measures. * Monitor patients’ progress and adjust treatment plans as needed.
• Collaborate with other healthcare professionals (e.g., nurses, surgeons, primary care physicians) to provide comprehensive patient care.

Perform procedures such as:

• Reading and interpreting ECGs, Holter monitors, and event recorders.
• Performing and interpreting echocardiograms. Conducting and interpreting stress tests (exercise and pharmacological).
• Performing and interpreting cardiac catheterizations and angiograms (if qualified).
• Implanting pacemakers and defibrillators (if qualified).
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records.
• Participate in departmental meetings, quality improvement initiatives, and continuing medical education.

Qualifications

• Candidates should possess a Medical Degree
• Completion of a residency in Internal Medicine.
• Completion of a fellowship in Cardiology.
• Medical license in Nigeria
• Demonstrated clinical competence in cardiology.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and patient care skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
• Commitment to providing high-quality, compassionate care.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience in a specific area of cardiology (e.g., interventional cardiology, electrophysiology, heart failure).
