Job Summary

  • The Finance Manager will play a pivotal role in overseeing the financial health and operational efficiency of the organization.
  • This individual will be responsible for managing all financial activities, including budgeting, forecasting, financial reporting, and compliance.
  • The ideal candidate will have a strong background in finance, preferably within the hospitality industry, and possess the ability to provide strategic financial guidance to support business objectives.

Key Responsibilities
Financial Planning & Analysis:

  • Develop and manage annual budgets, forecasts, and long-term financial plans in alignment with organizational goals.
  • Conduct variance analysis to identify trends, risks, and opportunities, providing actionable insights to senior management.
  • Monitor key financial metrics and KPIs to ensure the financial stability and profitability of the business.

Financial Reporting:

  • Prepare accurate and timely financial statements, including profit and loss accounts, balance sheets, and cash flow statements.
  • Present financial reports to senior management, stakeholders, and board members, highlighting performance against targets.
  • Ensure compliance with accounting standards, regulatory requirements, and internal policies.

Cash Flow Management:

  • Oversee cash flow planning and ensure availability of funds for operational needs.
  • Manage working capital, including accounts receivable, accounts payable, and inventory control.
  • Optimize banking relationships and negotiate favorable terms with financial institutions.

Cost Control & Profitability:

  • Implement cost control measures to maximize profitability across all business units.
  • Analyze cost structures and identify areas for efficiency improvements.
  • Collaborate with department heads to monitor and control operational expenses.

Strategic Financial Leadership:

  • Provide strategic financial guidance to support business decisions, including investments, expansions, and new projects.
  • Evaluate financial implications of business initiatives and provide recommendations to senior leadership.
  • Support the development and execution of business strategies to drive growth and profitability.

Compliance &  Risk Management:

  • Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal financial regulations and tax requirements.
  • Implement and maintain robust internal controls to safeguard company assets.
  • Identify and mitigate financial risks through effective  risk management practices.

Team Leadership & Development:

  • Lead and mentor the finance team, fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
  • Provide training and development opportunities to enhance team capabilities.
  • Delegate tasks effectively and ensure the team meets deadlines and objectives.

Hospitality-Specific Responsibilities:

  • Monitor revenue streams specific to the hospitality industry, including room revenue, F&B sales, and event bookings.
  • Analyze occupancy rates, average daily rate (ADR), and revenue per available room (RevPAR) to optimize pricing strategies.
  • Collaborate with operations teams to ensure seamless financial processes across all hospitality functions.

Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)

  • Accuracy and timeliness of financial reporting.
  • Achievement of budget and forecast targets.
  • Improvement in profitability and cost efficiency.
  • Compliance with regulatory requirements and internal controls.
  • Team performance and development.

Qualifications
Education:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Professional certification (e.g., CPA, CMA, ACCA) is highly preferred.

Experience:

  • 4 – 6 years of progressive experience in finance or accounting roles, with at least 3 years in a managerial capacity.
  • Proven experience in the hospitality industry is strongly preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of hospitality-specific financial systems (e.g., Opera, Micros, or similar) is a plus.

Skills & Competencies:

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a keen attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to present complex financial information to non-financial stakeholders.
  • Proficiency in financial software (e.g., SAP, Oracle, QuickBooks) and advanced Excel skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure, meet tight deadlines, and manage multiple priorities.
  • Strong leadership and team management abilities.
  • High level of integrity and professionalism.
