Junior Safety Officer

Role Summary
- The Junior Safety Officer supports the Senior Safety Officer in ensuring compliance with all health and safety regulations at the construction site. This role involves proactive monitoring, training, and reporting to maintain a safe work environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct daily safety inspections on the construction site and identify potential hazards.
- Assist in implementing safety policies, procedures, and programs.
- Investigate and document minor accidents or near-misses, reporting findings to the Senior Safety Officer.
- Maintain records of safety incidents, audits, and inspections.
- Monitor workers to ensure compliance with safety guidelines, including PPE use.
- Support in conducting toolbox talks and safety training sessions.
- Ensure all safety equipment is in good condition and accessible.
- Assist in preparing safety reports and ensuring compliance with local regulations.
- Coordinate emergency drills and ensure the readiness of first-aid resources.
Qualifications & Skills
- Minimum of a diploma or certification in Occupational Health and Safety or related field.
- At least 1-2 years of experience in a safety role, preferably in construction.
- Knowledge of safety standards and regulations in construction.
- Strong observation and attention to detail.
- Ability to communicate effectively and enforce safety rules.
- Basic knowledge of first aid is an advantage.
Salary
N80,000 – N120,000 per month.
