Quantity Surveyor

Job Description
- The Quantity Surveyor will be responsible for managing all aspects of cost estimation, financial control, and contract administration throughout the lifecycle of construction projects.
- The successful candidate will ensure that projects are completed within budget and that all financial and contractual requirements are met.The candidate must reside on the island.
Key Responsibilities
Cost Management:
- Assist in preparing Bills of Quantities (BOQs)
- Prepare cost estimates for projects
- Monitor project costs and expenditure
- Support in preparing cost reports
- Maintain cost records and documentation.
Contract Administration:
- Assist in tender preparation and evaluation
- Review contractor payment applications
- Support contract documentation management
- Help process variations and claims
- Maintain contract records.
Project Support:
- Carry out site measurements and quantity take-offs
- Prepare interim valuations
- Assist in final account preparation
- Support procurement activities
- Monitor material quantities and costs.
Technical Duties:
- Prepare technical reports
- Assist in value engineering exercises
- Support project cost control activities
- Help maintain project databases
- Participate in project meetings.
Required Skills and Competencies
- Bachelor’s Degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related field
- Minimum of 4 years of experience in a Quantity Surveying role
- Knowledge of construction cost estimation, contracts, and procurement procedures.
- Strong numerical, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
Professional Requirements:
- Graduate membership of the Nigerian Institute of Quantity Surveyors (NIQS)
- Registration with the Quantity Surveyors Registration Board of Nigeria (QSRBN)
- A valid practicing license is an added advantage.
Technical Skills:
- Proficiency in quantity surveying software
- Knowledge of construction contracts
- Understanding of building and construction processes
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings
- Competent in Microsoft Office Suite.
Professional Skills:
- Basic understanding of Nigerian construction law
- Knowledge of measurement standards
- Ability to prepare technical reports
- Understanding of construction health and safety.

- Strong analytical abilities
- Good communication skills

- Time management skills.
