Senior Quantity Surveyor

Job Summary
- As a Senior Quantity Surveyor, you will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of cost management, contract administration, and procurement for construction projects.
- You will work closely with project managers, clients, and contractors to ensure projects are completed on time, within budget, and according to contractual agreements.
- The successful candidate must reside on the island.
Key Responsibilities
Project Cost Management:
- Prepare detailed cost estimates and BOQs for construction projects
- Develop and maintain project budgets
- Monitor and control project costs
- Prepare monthly cost reports and cash flow forecasts
Contract Administration:
- Review and analyse contract documents
- Prepare tender documents and manage tender processes
- Negotiate with contractors and suppliers
- Handle contract variations and claims
Commercial Management:
- Prepare interim and final account statements
- Manage project valuations and payments
- Monitor project financial performance
- Identify and manage commercial risks
Team Leadership:
- Supervise and mentor junior quantity surveyors
- Coordinate with project managers and other team members
- Lead cost-related meetings and presentations
- Provide technical guidance to team members
Qualifications
Required Skills and Competences:
- Bachelor’s degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related field.
- Proven experience (10 years + )as a Quantity Surveyor, with at least 4 years in a senior role.
- Strong knowledge of construction contracts, cost estimating, and procurement.
- Excellent negotiation, communication, and problem-solving skills.
Technical Competencies:
- Proficient in quantity surveying software (e.g., CostX, Buildsoft)
- Expert knowledge of construction contracts and Nigerian construction law
- Strong understanding of building and civil engineering processes
- Excellent knowledge of current construction costs and market trends

- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities

Professional Requirements:
- Membership of Nigerian Institute of Quantity Surveyors (NIQS)
- Registration with the Quantity Surveyors Registration Board of Nigeria (QSRBN)
- Valid practicing license
- Professional Indemnity Insurance.
