Job Summary
- They assist with visa applications, travel insurance, and other necessary documents ensuring that customers have a seamless, enjoyable, and memorable travel experience.
- They require the service of a Visa Officer; the Visa Officer plays a critical role in evaluating and processing visa applications, ensuring compliance with immigration laws and regulations, and maintaining national security and integrity.
Job Responsibilities
Visa Application Assessment:
- Review and evaluate visa applications, supporting documents, and travel history.
- Conduct interviews with applicants to clarify information.
Eligibility Determination:
- Assess applicant eligibility based on visa category, requirements, and immigration policies.
- Verify documentation, including passports, ID documents, and health insurance.
Risk Assessment:
- Identify potential security risks, fraudulent documents, or misrepresentation.
- Consult with colleagues, experts, or external agencies.
Decision-Making:
- Make informed decisions on visa approvals, refusals, or additional documentation requests.
- Provide clear, concise reasoning for decisions.
Communication:
- Interact with applicants, sponsors, travel agents, and other stakeholders.
- Guide visa requirements and processes.
Data Management:
- Accurately update visa application databases and tracking systems.
- Maintain confidentiality and integrity of sensitive information.
Policy Interpretation:
- Stay up-to-date on changing immigration policies, laws, and procedures.
- Apply knowledge to ensure consistent decision-making.
Collaboration:
- Work closely with colleagues, other government agencies, and international partners.
- Participate in training, workshops, and knowledge-sharing activities.
Qualification / Requirements
- OND / HND / BSC / MSc in Law, International Relations, Social Sciences, or related field.
- 3 – 5+ years of experience in visa processing, immigration, or a related field.
- Certification in immigration law or visa processing.
- Knowledge of immigration laws, regulations, and procedures
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Ability to work in a high-pressure environment.
- Experience in diplomatic missions, consular services, or border control.
Working Hours:
- Standard office hours (may require flexibility for events and travel).
- Proximity to the Anthony area of Lagos is crucial.
Salary
N130,000 – N170,000 monthly (plus commission).
