Responsibilities
An Export Operations Officer responsibilities include:

  • Export documentation: Producing, reviewing, and distributing import and export documentation
  • Customer service: Providing customer service via email, telephone, and other communication methods
  • Compliance: Ensuring compliance with export laws and regulations
  • Inventory management: Monitoring and managing inventory levels
  • Supply chain management: Optimizing supply chain operations
  • Contract management: Negotiating and managing contracts with third-party logistics providers
  • Performance metrics: Analyzing and reporting on operational performance metrics
  • Customer service levels: Monitoring customer service levels and taking corrective action as necessary
  • Cost reduction: Developing and implementing strategies to reduce cost
  • Liaising with carriers and freight forwarders
  • Coordinating with sales and purchasing teams
  • Coordinating with finance and accounting departments
  • Assisting with customs clearance procedures
  • Maintaining accurate records of import and export transactions

Requirements

  • Proven work experience as Operations personnel in a Shipping and Logistics Firm.
  • Excellent use of MS Advanced Excel
  • Knowledge of organizational effectiveness and operations management.
  • Experience budgeting and forecasting.
  • Familiarity with business and financial principles.
  • Excellent communication skills.
