IT Support Engineer
Job Location: Ikeja, Lagos
Employment Type: Full-time
Responsibilities
- Troubleshoot and repair computer systems, including laptops, servers, desktops, and printers, and maintain detailed records of all repairs.
- Troubleshoot issues related to iOS, Windows, and MS Office applications.
- Conduct regular checks and updates for software, including antivirus, Windows, and MS Office.
- Ensure network uplink uptime by escalating issues to the responsible body, vendor, or engineer.
- Escalate inverter and battery-related issues to the inverter team.
- Conduct regular checks on CCTV systems, biometric terminals, and VoIP phones.
- Ensure network access is granted only to authorized personnel after proper approval.
- Configure firewalls and manage security policies under supervision.
- Configure and troubleshoot email systems.
- Perform regular checks on internet links and structural cabling.
- Perform regular preventive and corrective maintenance of network systems, including switches, wireless access points, and firewalls.
- Preserve IT assets, information security, and control structures.
- Ensure the security of data, network access, and backup systems.
- Maintain records of IT assets (laptops, keyboards, mice, chargers, etc.) assigned to employees with proper approval.
- Maintain records of IT assets returned by employees leaving the organization.
- Keep records of faulty IT assets.
Qualifications
Educational Qualification:
- Bachelor’s Degree or its equivalent in Information Technology, Computer Science or a related field.
Experience:
- 0 – 3 years of relevant work experience in IT support, with a basic understanding of computer systems, networks, and data security.
Skills Requirement:
- Familiarity with troubleshooting iOS, Windows, and MS Office applications.
- Basic knowledge of firewall configuration and policy management.
- Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
- Experience with email configuration and troubleshooting is a plus.
- Understanding of network maintenance, including switches, wireless access points, and firewalls.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies and challenges.
